The 212-acre Gemini Springs was purchased in 1994 through the combined efforts of Volusia County, the Trust for Public Lands, the St. Johns River Water Management District and the Florida Communities Trust. The refreshing 72-degree waters of Blue Spring greet visitors at this gem along the St. Johns River. After years of conservation efforts, manatee numbers reached a record high of 485 in 2018. To see the park’s wonders, visitors can hike along the spring run or on the 4.5-mile Pine Island Trail. Although a bit further than other parks around our good neighborhood, residents can still get to Blue Spring in just under 30 minutes.
